1. Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must be a dependent child of:
- An active member, in good standing, of the Kentucky Professional Fire Fighters.
- A retired individual who was a member in good standing of the Kentucky Professional Fire Fighters at the time of retirement.
- Applicant must be at least enrolled as a part-time student (6 hours per semester).
- Each applicant may reapply in subsequent scholastic or academic school years as long as they still meet the eligibility requirements.
- Recipients of prior KPFF scholarship awards may also reapply for future scholarships.
- The scholarship shall be announced no later than July 1st of each year.
- Applicant must submit their applications at https://kentuckyfirefighters.org/scholarships.php by August 31st of each year.
- Applicant must submit proof of acceptance or enrollment from any accredited college or university in the United States.
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale must have been maintained during the previous scholastic year.
- Proof of grades for the previous scholastic year must accompany the application.
2. Distribution of Award
- A scholarship in the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) shall be awarded to two (2) individuals selected by the scholarship committee and approved by the Executive Board of the Kentucky Professional Fire Fighters per year.
- The selection process and notification of the recipients shall be completed no later than December 31st of each year.
3. Selection Responsibilities
- The scholarship committee of the KPFF shall appoint a selection committee or an individual who have or have had no affiliation or interest in the KPFF (i.e., High School Counselors).
- The scholarship committee shall deliver to the selection committee all applications which have complied with the eligibility criteria by September 30th each year.
- The selection committee shall select a recipient using the above criteria and information gathered from the application.
- The recommended recipient's application shall be delivered to the Executive Board of the KPFF by the scholarship committee for final approval.
- Failure to comply with any requirements or requests herein may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the award.
- All decisions of the Executive Board of the Kentucky Professional Fire Fighters are final.
